After that failed, I was: a car mechanic, a deli worker, an inventory specialist for a cosmetics giant, a kitchen staff member of a Mexican restaurant, a deli worker, an iron worker and a customer service representative of a high profile department store.
Then, there was a two year break to learn Macintosh and I became a print shop operator, a digital asset manager of an Advertising giant in New York City (I had my own corner office on Madison Ave with three doors to slam in people’s faces and eight windows to jump 11 stories from).

She was born in Baghdad almost 60 years ago and was one of the youngest, and so far the only woman to win the Pritzker prize – the highest award in Architecture. Her creative, ground–breaking innovations stretch across the globe. From large-scale urban structures, through to dynamic interiors, furniture design and recently even shoes.
In a nutshell she’s supadupa cool and creates amazing things. (Here’s a nicked quote): In her Pritzker Prize citation juror Jorge Silvetti declared: “What she has achieved with her inimitable manipulation of walls, ground planes, and roofs, with those transparent, interwoven, and fluid spaces, are vivid proof that architecture as a fine art has not run out of steam and is hardly wanting in imagination.” - Dan Brooks Riot, Amsterdam

In 1999, Time Magazine recognized him as one of “The Most Influential Asians of the Century”. “As much as Mao Zedong or Mohandis Gandhi changed Asian days,” Time author Pico Iyer wrote, “Inoue transformed its nights.”
In 2004, Inoue went to Harvard University to accept an Ig Noble Peace Prize for his invention; his rendition there of “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” earned a standing ovation. Master of ceremonies Marc Abrahams indicated it was the longest standing ovation the Ig Nobels had ever seen; the audience of largely Nobel Prize laureates responded by serenading Inoue with a chorus of “Can’t Take My Eyes off You”. – Diogo Tovar, Riot Amsterdam

At a time when the world was wrapped up in the ‘take, take, take’ style of business, Anita Roddick made people think another way. The company was one of the first to use ingredients Not Tested on Animals and promote fair trade with third world countries.
She was a pioneer of the anti-body movement, by not showing unrealistic models and relying on bad self image to do so. Her most successful ad campaign used a real body shape toy doll called Ruby, long before Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty.
Roddick was involved in activism and campaigning for environmental and social issues including involvement with Greenpeace and The Big Issue and founded Children On The Edge, to help disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe and Asia.
